How Hope Can Change the World: A Small Experiment with Huge Results

Do you sometimes feel hopeless about the state of the world? Or that you alone can’t possibly make a difference?

Actually, each one of us can make a difference – even if it only makes the world a better place in a small way.

Watch the video below to see how one teacher in a poverty-stricken are of the Bronx, Stephen Ritz, made a difference. He came up with a simple idea that created hope, built new skills, and even allowed his students to earn some money. It’s inspiring!

What do you think about the video? Please share in the comments.

Thanks for sharing Mary, another excellent TED Talk. The secret sauce is… YOU HAVE TO CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE ! When people make a difference, I think one of the reasons is because they care. People who don’t care are just going through the motions. My $0.02 on a Tuesday morning. Thanks again.

I showed it at a youth study group that I run and this made a wonderful way to illustrate topics from the Bhagavad Gita about how hope, vision and understanding can bring transformation in the world that reflects the transformation in ourselves…Thanks for this post.
