@ Zengirl – yes there’s a lot of poverty in the US. I see that Kiva is also lending to some people in the US. Poverty really is a terrible thing – especially when you have kids.

Mary, Arvind,

This is great idea, Kiva helps many people in other countries.

I am concerned about US folks, as with downturn in economy, many kids, women, older folks are homeless, going hungry, although it is not as visible in media’s eyes, one can see it when you drive in certain area of every city.

Being compassionate is important for soul.

Mary, I am just so honoured, privileged and excited to be working on this challenge with you!

What started off as a simple conversation just a few weeks ago has now become reality and it is humbling to know that through this challenge the impact we make will be so huge for the beneficiaries of the Kiva loans.

It seems that our challenge is taking off big time and we can potentially raise the funds for hundreds of new Kiva loans. The beauty is that the loans we generate will be ongoing and help many more entrepreneurs in the future.

I must admit that it is only when I thoroughly looked through the Kiva website and watched many of the videos about how the loan recepients had benefitted that I realised what amazing work they do.
