Weekend Browsing: Highlights on the Net

Caroline's seagull 1

A guest post by Janice Hunter

(The photo above is by Caroline of the Zen in You. If you have problems with meditation, check out her photography blog in slideshow format. It’s mesmerising.)

This week, we’ve some links to help you celebrate life, get clean and clear and achieve froglessness…

Every so often, I take a step back from blogging and get in touch with what needs to be done in my real life. This week I tackled a corner of the attic and share some tips here for letting go of clutter in any corner of your home.

Brenda from Betaphilings shared a simple piece of Zen wisdom that is so profound, it will help you stay serene and focused no matter what projects or challenges you have to tackle this week.

Lance at Jungle of Life has a knack of finding videos that inspire and empower long after you’ve watched them. Randy Pausch’s commencement speech touched me and strengthened my resolve to live an engaged life full of presence and gratitude with my family and friends.

You’ll always find a glimpse of someone else’s life or wisdom to inspire you at Marc and Angel’s Makes You Think. It’s an online community where people share daily life stories that provoke deep thought and inspire positive change.

Finally, for 114 Ways to Celebrate Life that will inspire you long after the weekend’s over, download Marelisa’s free ebook from The Abundance Blog - for yourself or as a gift for someone you love.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Janice, hi Mary: Thank you for mentioning my blog and my ebook on “114 Ways to Celebrate Life.” Also, I agree that Lance always picks inspiring videos. Have a great weekend!

You’re welcome, Marelisa! I tried to find links that fit well with what Goodlife Zen is about. I liked your tip about dancing in the rain; I wrote a piece called When the Heavens Open about doing just that!

Excellent post! I checked out Mark and Angel’s Make You Think and enjoyed this comment: Today, my 21 year old son’s alternative rock band received a record deal from a major record label. I spent the last 5 years trying to convince him that college was the smarter way to go. But he stood his ground and pursued his dream. And now he’s living it. MMT

Thank you, Pete! Glad you enjoyed it. There’s so much good stuff out there, it can get a bit overwhelming. I tried to choose shortish ones that folk could dip into.

Hi Lance,
You’re very welcome. Any yummy links would be appreciated, too. ;) (You, too Dani – I know you visit a lot of good blogs.)

Hi Janice

Thanks for linking to “Froglessness.” It’s such a good reminder for us to slow down and remain calm. Linking is just another word for sharing, which you do so well on Sharing the Journey. Much love to you. :)

Hi Brenda,
You’re welcome! Mary is one of the most generous sharers and empowerers I know, so it makes it easier to visualise the kind of positive folk her blog attracts.

I loved the concept of froglessness and I smile inside when I say to myself “I think you could do with a bit of froglessness today, m’dear!” It’s also partly because I take shameless delight in making up compound words ending in ‘ness’ so the word itself appeals to me.

@Dayne,
You’re welcome! I got a bit overwhelmed by the end, trying to keep it simple while getting a balance between short reads, usable tips, photos, videos and longer reads. Not easy – the Internet’s a treasure trove!

@Caroline,
You’re always welcome. Your photos are exquisite!
