Friendship is important to me. I'm very serious about it and treat my closest friends like highly expensive jewels. Each one is precious.
Though, I must say, I sometimes take my family granted.
But the most precious gift I give is anything and everything my friend needs.
My attention, support, heart, and simply unconditional love.
What I need to work on, is sharing this with everyone. And just not a friend or family member.

@ Shona
Thank you, Shona, for pointing out the gift where the 'giver and receiver are experienced as one.' The heart is indeed a precious gift!

The most precious gift I can give is my heart. To feel that great welling up of love and compassion for another in their time of need, to want desperately to ease their pain or anguish and give them peace.
The strange thing about this gift is that it flows both ways! The joy this gift brings is a joy to all involved, as giver and receiver are experienced as one.

I love your gift of attention Mary. My husband Ray is the best listener I have ever met. When he listens to you it is as if there is no other person or object in the whole world except you. It is a strange and wonderful thing. Strange because it is so rare to encounter and also because I myself am not so good at giving my full attention to people, but as a receiver of this gift I can certainly verify it's value!

@ Ben
Thank you for your comment, Ben! Yes, support is a wonderful gift. Your turn of phrase 'backing a loved one' is interesting. When I think of those friends and family members who support me wholeheartedly, I feel them standing behind me, guarding my back and cheering me on. It's so much easier to be courageous with that kind of support!

I'm not sure if I'm using the right word but for me the most precious gift I can give is support.

To support someone 100% whether you agree with them or not. By backing your loved one you offer more than a materialistic gift

Happy Holidays

Sweet post Mum!

Makes for a nice breath of fresh air after all the "buy-buy-buy" marketing one has to wade through at this time of year.

Keep up the great work :)
